Between historical legacy and contemporary art: In the heart of Paris, this new museum, the Bourse de Commerce ['The Trade Exchange'], is a unique venue where past and present coalesce. Since May 2021, this architectural masterpiece has been home to one of the world’s most significant collections of contemporary art, brought together over decades by the entrepreneur François Pinault.

The varied history of this listed round building with its striking metal dome extends back over five centuries and it underwent an impressive revitalisation at the hands of Japanese architect Tadao Ando. A concrete cylinder nine metres in height and open at the top, with a diameter of 29 metres, interconnects the exhibition areas and also serves as a central exhibition space.

This round structural concept is supported by the open, seamless GEO open-cell ceiling supplied by durlum. This open ceiling extends right into the foyer and the auditorium in a plain anodized and black colour scheme, communicating an elegant, mystical impression. In a refined manner, the 780 m² of open-cell ceiling underscore the prestigious atmosphere of this building without in any way detracting from the visual impact of the exhibits. With sleek, concealed suspension, these elements were integrated into predefined modules consisting of lighting channels.
